Kalahari Visions
The Book
The Kalahari Desert is a natural gem. A huge undisturbed semi-desert, a wilderness, where cheetahs, black-maned lions, and other predators are hunting in a sea of dunes. Beautiful light, red sand, and magnificent wildlife come together to create a world beyond the imaginable. Our photographic project titled ’Kalahari visions – images from a desert’ is a visual and engaging celebration of this unique area.
We invite you to join us on a dusty but unforgettable journey into an African wonderland.
Jan Pedersen
Photography is my passion and language. My mind is perceptual and based on visuality. Over the years I have moved from illustrative and narrative images to more and more creative expressions.
For nearly 40 years, I have been guiding photo- and nature-tours all over the world - in all biomes from deserts to rainforests. Ecotourism and wildlife protection is a key motivation for me.
My first book "In the Deserts of Arabia" was selected by the World Wildlife Fund WWF for the ” Pandabok 2000”. My third book "Birdsong" is Sweden's best selling nature book ever. Nearly 2 million copies have been sold in nine languages. Totally 16 books/titles are published until now - several of them being Swedish and international bestsellers.

Johan Siggesson
A wildlife photographer from Sweden residing on the small Mediterranean island of Malta. From an early age I was passionate about animals and the natural world. Before Animal Planet, Nat Geo Wild and the likes, I was always glued in front of the weekly nature program on Swedish state television.
Seeing is only the first step in the creative process. Experiencing what I see and conveying it to You is where the creation becomes engaging. With nature as an eternal source of inspiration, I create works where my impressions of my surroundings are expressed on paper. Creating harmony of the uninterrupted complexity that exists in nature is stimulating and inspiring. Although my images have different motives and have been created using different techniques in the camera, all images are permeated with respect and reverence for the, sometimes very fragile, nature that surrounds us.
